Neville Sneddon is a mining engineer with over 37 years experience in most facets of the mining industry of NSW and Queensland. In the Hunter Valley he worked in the Coal and Allied business, developing and operating both underground and open cut mines. From 1997, Neville worked in a senior role in the NSW Mines Inspectorate, covering operations in all forms of mining in the state. Moving to Queensland in 1999, he accepted the position of Chief Operating officer with Shell Coal, subsequently Anglo American’s Australian coal operations. The operations produce metallurgical coal as well as thermal coal for export and Australian customers. The mines are in both NSW and Queensland. He left the role of CEO in 2007. Neville has held several positions on the Boards of operating mining companies and infrastructure operators in both NSW and Queensland, including that of Chairman of the operating company at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal near Mackay and Director of Port Waratah Coal Services, a major coal export facility at Newcastle. He has been a member of the Boards of the Queensland, NSW and National Mining councils. He has been invited onto several Government Committees, including the NSW Mine Subsidence Board, the NSW Mines Rescue Board, Queensland Ministerial Coal Mine Safety Advisory Committee and the joint federal/state advisory committee which is developing nationally consistent mining safety legislation.He is presently on the Board of Envirogen, and is the Chairman of CSM Energy.

Nick is a founding Director and shareholder of Stanmore Coal and has some 20 years experience in investment banking, civil engineering, corporate finance and project management. In his roles in investment banking he has been involved in leading advisory mandates with corporate, government and private equity client across industry sectors ranging from resources to infrastructure. Mr Jorss was previously a Director of Pacific Road Corporate Finance and was an engineer with Baulderstone Hornibrook prior to that where he delivered infrastructure and resource projects over a period of approximately 8 years. Mr Jorss is a founding shareholder and Director of St. Lucia Resources International, Stanmore Coal and Kurilpa Uranium and is a Director of Vantage Private Equity Growth, Vantage Asset Management and Wingate Capital. Mr Jorss holds a Bachelor with Honours in Civil Engineering, a Masters of Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment.

Andrew Martin is an investment banker within a global investment bank. Over more than 15 years, Andrew has worked in a banking, advisory or corporate capacity, generally within the infrastructure, utilities and natural resources sectors. In recent years, Andrew has advised on transactions within the power generation, utilities, gas, water, road, rail and ports sectors. Andrew is a founding Director and shareholder in St Lucia Resources International, Stanmore Coal and Kurilpa Uranium. Andrew has a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Sydney.

Stephen Bizzell was until recently an Executive Director of Arrow Energy Ltd, a position he had held since 1999. He has been instrumental in Arrow’s corporate and commercial success and its growth from a junior explorer to a large integrated energy company with a market capitalisation of over $3 billion. Stephen Bizzell is a Chartered Accountant and early in his career was employed in the Corporate Finance division of Ernst & Young and the Corporate Tax division of Coopers & Lybrand. He has had considerable experience and success in the fields of corporate restructuring, debt and equity financing, and mergers and acquisitions and has over 15 years corporate finance and public company management experience in the resources sector in Australia and Canada with various public companies. He is Chairman of boutique investment banking and funds management group Bizzell Capital Partners, Chairman of Renison Consolidated Mines NL, and Non-Executive Director of Dart Energy Ltd, Bow Energy Ltd, Hot Rock Ltd, Renaissance Uranium and Diversa Limited.

Viv Forbes is a Bowen Basin pioneer with over 40 years of coal industry experience including government service, field exploration, mine valuation and acquisition, financing, development, operations and successful asset sales. Viv has been involved in various capacities at Burton Coal, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, South Blackwater Coal Mine, Tahmoor Coal Mine, Newlands/Collinsville Coal Mines, MIM, Utah Goonyella/Saraji and Gold Fields. Viv has a degree in Applied Science Geology and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Mr Doug McAlpine is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of accounting and finance experience. Doug was previously the CFO and Company Secretary of Watpac Limited, a major construction and contract services business and prior to that was CFO and Company Secretary of Ariadne Limited. He has had significant exposure to the coal industry in Queensland having previously provided external audit and consulting services to BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto during his time in the professional services sector. In his previous role at Watpac Limited, Doug played a key role in the establishment and growth of the company’s contract mining services business. Doug has strong competencies in the areas of corporate governance and risk management; financial modelling and financial analysis; company and asset valuation; taxation structuring and planning; and the negotiation of project finance. Doug holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Vaughan has 20 years’ experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects and studies. He has successfully filled a variety of positions including Owners Representative, Project Manager, Study Manager, Engineering Manager, Area Manager and Construction Manager. Vaughan has worked in owner’s teams, operation teams, contractor’s project teams and engineer’s project teams. He has worked on resources projects across Australia and in Toronto, London, New Zealand, China, Thailand, New Caledonia and Ghana. His experience includes coal, gold, nickel, and infrastructure. Significant projects he has contributed to include Goro Nickel, Dawson Coal, ODX, and Rosia Montana Gold. He is a founding Director of St Lucia Resources International, a co-founder of Stanmore Coal, and a co-founder of Kurilpa Uranium. Vaughan has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Queensland.

Mr McKee is an experienced coal mining professional having held the position of General Manager – Operations since 2004 with consecutive appointments at the Yarrabee Mine, Minerva Mine and with Sonoma Mine Management. Prior to this Mr McKee held senior operational roles over more than 20 years with Rio Tinto (Lihir Mine Management, Kaltim Prima Coal and Pacific Coal (Tarong)) and with BHP Australia Coal (Peak Downs mine and Harrow Creek Trial Colliery).
Mr McKee is a qualified Mine Manager and has a strong knowledge of mine development, construction and commissioning, project feasibility, mining and wash-plant contract management, logistics management and general mine operations management. Mr McKee has also had significant experience in implementation and operation of corporate safety management systems which will be integral to the successful delivery of Stanmore’s development projects.

Mr Nichols has 22 years of senior exploration and mining roles with major companies in the Bowen and Surat Basins. Since 2008 he has held the position of Geology Manger at New Hope Coal where he was responsible for the operational management of New Hope's exploration activities including three company drill rigs and 25 staff.
Other key responsibilities included:

  • development, management, coordination and organisation of all New Hope Coal exploration activities on existing tenures;
  • identification and assessment of further tenures;
  • development and reporting of New Hope Coal’s JORC resources to the ASX.

Prior to this Mr Nichols held senior exploration and mining roles over 18 years with Anglo Coal where he managed geological and geophysical programs at the Callide mine and other exploration areas within Queensland. He was also responsible for statutory reporting activities and supervision and training of staff. Mr Nichols has held the position of Site Senior Executive and will be instrumental in ensuring best practice in implementation of Stanmore Coal's safety program.

Duncan is an accomplished and highly efficient corporate administrator and manager. He has many years’ experience in pivotal management roles in capital raisings and stock exchange listings for numerous companies on the ASX, AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange. He has also focused on the areas of company reporting and company regulatory, secretarial and governance areas, and business acquisition and disposal due diligence. He has worked previously with Ernst and Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers in both Australia and the UK.Duncan is currently Company Secretary and CFO of other listed companies on the ASX and TSX-V, having assisted in the listing and capital raising of each of the companies. He is supported by a small experienced team of accountants and administrators.
